• One must be in Belize at least three days prior to applying for marriage license. One day’s prior notice is required to apply for a license. The license will be available in one week. You may submit your application from outside Belize in anticipation of being married in Belize. The application for marriage can be obtained from the Solicitor General, Attorney General’s Ministry, Belmopan, Belize, Central America. A fee of $100 US should accompany completed application if both parties are non-Belizean. The three day residence in Belize is mandatory even if applying for license by mail.
• Proof of citizenship (can use certified copy of Birth Certificate, signed by notary public); proof of divorce if applicable, and a copy of death certificate for a widow or widower is required.
• No blood test are required or parents consent if over 18 years old.
